Introducing AI & Computational Thinking at Akshara International School: Preparing Future-Ready Learners

At Akshara International School, we are committed to empowering our students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. In alignment with the national initiative to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) from early grades, we are excited to announce the introduction of these pioneering learning pathways across classes starting the 2026-2027 academic year.

Why this matters

The world is changing fast. Our students face new challenges and opportunities—from robotics and automation to digital citizenship and global collaboration. By embedding AI and CT into our curriculum, Akshara aims to equip learners with:

  • The ability to think algorithmically, break down problems, and explore creative solutions.
  • Foundational tech literacy to understand and engage with AI, rather than just use it.
  • Ethical awareness and social responsibility, ensuring that technology serves the common good.
  • Confidence to adapt, innovate, and lead in future workplaces and life.
Our implementation approach

At Akshara International School:

  • Starting from Grade 3, students will participate in modules designed around Computational Thinking and age-appropriate AI concepts — progressing year-by-year with complexity.
  • We will integrate hands-on activities, project-based learning, coding, data-exploration, robotics kits, and interactive tools in our Digital & Innovation Labs.
  • Teachers will receive capacity-building workshops to deliver these modules effectively, with ongoing support, resources and peer-collaboration.
  • Ethical dimensions—such as bias in AI, digital safety, and responsible use of technology—will be woven into the learning journeys.
  • The curriculum will align with our academic, co-curricular and character-building goals — ensuring holistic development, not just technical skills.
